What Is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, is a security feature that adds a second step to the login process.
After entering your password, you’ll be asked to provide a temporary six-digit code from an authentication app on your phone.
This way, even if someone knows your password, they won’t be able to log in without access to your mobile device.
Benefits of enabling 2FA:
Protects your account from unauthorized access
Keeps your data and mentions secure
Strengthens overall account integrity — especially important for company and enterprise users
Before You Start
To set up 2FA, you’ll need:
Access to your Brand24 account (you must be logged in)
A smartphone or another device with an authentication app
Supported authenticator apps
You can use any standard authentication app, such as:
Google Authenticator
Authy
1Password
Microsoft Authenticator
Any app that supports TOTP (Time-based One-Time Passwords)
How to Enable 2FA in Brand24 (Step-by-Step)
Go to your Account Settings -> Two Factor Authentication
Scan the QR code
Use your authentication app to scan the code. If scanning doesn’t work, you can enter the setup key manually (the key is displayed below the QR code).
Enter the 6-digit verification code
Once the app generates a code, type it into Brand24 to confirm the setup.
Save your backup code
After successful setup, you’ll receive a backup code. Store it in a safe place — you’ll need it if you lose access to your phone.
After completing these steps, 2FA will be active for your account. You’ll be asked to enter a new code every time you log in.
Each user can enable 2FA independently for their own login.
How to Disable or Change 2FA Settings
You can turn off 2FA anytime from your Account Settings.
To do this, you’ll need to:
Enter your password
Provide your current 2FA code
If you want to move your 2FA to a new device or switch to a different authentication app, you’ll need to disable 2FA first and then re-enable it with your new app.
What If You Lose Access to Your Authenticator App?
If you lose your phone or delete your authentication app:
Use your backup code.
You can log in once with your backup code, which automatically resets your 2FA. You’ll be guided to set it up again after logging in.
If you don’t have your backup code:
Contact Brand24 Support. After confirming your identity, our team will help you regain access and reconfigure 2FA.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
My code doesn’t work
Make sure you’re entering the latest 6-digit code from your app. Codes refresh every 30 seconds.
My phone’s time isn’t synced
If your code is always rejected, check that your device’s time and date are set to automatic. Unsynced time can cause mismatched codes.
I can’t log in with 2FA enabled
Use your backup code if available, or contact support for account recovery assistance.
