ChatGPT requires a paid subscription to allow users to connect MCP servers (via Apps &amp; Connectors in ChatGPT settings).

Personal and Business accounts have different methods for adding a new Connector (MCP).

ChatGPT Personal Account (Plus or Pro Subscription Plan)

Enable developer mode: Go to <a href="https://chatgpt.com/#settings/Connectors" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Settings → Connectors</a> → Advanced → Developer mode.

Add a new Connector (this is what OpenAI calls MCP servers). ​ If you don’t see the Create/Add option, enable Developer Mode (toggle below the list of connectors).

1. Enable developer mode: Go to <a href="https://chatgpt.com/#settings/Connectors" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Settings → Connectors</a> → Advanced → Developer mode.
2. Add a new Connector (this is what OpenAI calls MCP servers). ​ If you don’t see the Create/Add option, enable Developer Mode (toggle below the list of connectors).

ChatGPT Team and Enterprise plans (Business account)

In this case you should ask your OpenAI Workspce Administrator to create new Connector.

In Claude MCP server is called Connector. Go to Settings \ Connectors \ Add Custom Connector ​
