What is reach?

Reach is the estimated number of people who have seen posts about a brand. It's mainly used to track trends over time rather than giving an exact count of viewers.

Reach comes in handy when you're selecting influencers to work with on your marketing campaigns - you can choose the right people and evaluate how well your campaigns are doing.

Where to find reach?

You can find those numbers in:

  • Mentions tab

  • Summary tab

  • Analysis tab

  • Topic Analysis

  • Comparison tab

  • PDF reports

How is Reach calculated?

Social media reach

Reach is calculated based on a few key elements:

  • The number of views

  • The number of interactions

  • The author’s statistics

These numbers, together with a few other factors, help estimate the total reach of a mention or post.

Non-social media reach

Reach outside of social media is calculated based on the average monthly visits to a given website. We gather data about domains from external sources.

Reach for a given day is calculated as the total reach of unique domains. This means that no matter how many times a single website publishes articles mentioning you in one day, we will count that domain as a single mention in the final reach calculation.
