Brand24 helps you to collect some of your public Facebook mentions via our dedicated integration. To start the integration, you are required to authorize (here) using your Facebook Page. Once authorized, Brand24 will be able to collect public mentions including:
Public posts in which your FB Page has been tagged for pages added to monitoring
Public posts that were published by your FB Page
Public posts published by individual users on your FB Page
Comments to public posts published by your FB Page
Facebook Page reviews
#️⃣ What type of Instagram data does Brand24 offer?
Brand24 helps you to collect public Instagram mentions via our dedicated integration. To start the integration, you are required to authorize using your Instagram Business or Creator Account (here).
Once authorized, Brand24 will be able to collect public mentions including:
Public posts containing a specific hashtag/hashtags
Public photos and videos posted by an Instagram Business or Creator Account's account
Number of likes and comments under public posts mentioned in the above subsections
#️⃣ How does Brand24 collect Facebook and Instagram data?
Brand24 is accessing public mentions from Facebook and Instagram exclusively via an official API and in compliance with the latest rules, terms, and guidelines.
#️⃣ Can I access stats such as the number of likes, comments, and shares for public posts collected via Brand24?
Brand24 offers access to main post statistics, including the number of likes, comments, and shares. Brand24 provides the stats visible at the moment a specific mention was collected.
#️⃣ Brand24 missed a public mention from Facebook or Instagram. Why is that?
Some of the likely reasons include the following:
Public post was published on a personal profile (not Facebook Page)
Post was published in a Facebook group
Public posts previously held different privacy settings (i.e., friends only)
Public post is set to be visible only for specific countries
By far, the most popular reason for missing mentions is due to the mention(s) originating from a personal profile.
It is worth emphasizing that due to privacy-related changes, Facebook excluded the ability to collect mentions from personal profiles.
#️⃣ How can I use Brand24 for Influencer Marketing?
Simply start listening to popular Instagram hashtags related to your industry. Thanks to detailed post statistics, including the number of likes, comments, and shares, you can now find the most engaging Instagram authors.
#️⃣ Why am I not seeing avatars for Facebook and Instagram mentions?
Unfortunately, the ability to access avatars of Facebook and Instagram users has been excluded from Facebook API during changes introduced in February 2020.
#️⃣ Can I collect mentions from Facebook groups?
Unfortunately not. Facebook excluded access to public mentions posted on groups as a part of API changes introduced in March 2018.
Note: Brand24 never collected posts from Facebook groups.
#️⃣ Why can I not access public mentions from personal Facebook profiles?
Due to privacy-related changes, Facebook excluded the ability to collect mentions from personal profiles.
#️⃣ Can I track mentions across Instagram Stories or Facebook Stories?
Unfortunately not. Facebook API does not offer this option at the moment.
Note: Brand24 never collected Instagram or Facebook Stories.
#️⃣ Some of your competitors offer additional Facebook or Instagram data. Why is that?
Brand24 offers Facebook and Instagram data in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Brand24 uses exclusively official API data.
#️⃣ Is Facebook and Instagram data collected by Brand24 compliant with GDPR/RODO?
Yes. All data collected and presented within the Brand24 platform are fully compliant with GDPR/RODO as well as all applicable laws and regulations.
#️⃣ Can I use a regular Instagram profile for integration?
Unfortunately not. Facebook API requires the use of an Instagram Business or Creator Account.

#️⃣ Can I use FB & IG data in my PDF reports?
Sure thing! The data collected from this integration will be available to use in your PDF reports.
#️⃣ Can I export Facebook and/or Instagram data as an Excel (CSV) file?
No. Unfortunately, this option is not available at the time.
However, you can still export your data via your PDF Reports
#️⃣ Is it possible to collect paid or promoted posts?
Unfortunately, we are unable to collect any mentions from Facebook or Instagram that have been 'paid' or 'promoted.'
Note: Brand24 has never been able to collect paid or promoted mentions/posts
#️⃣ Are there any limits for the number of hashtags I can track on Instagram?
Yes. Instagram API allows you to track up to 30 unique hashtags per single integration. You can create multiple integrations to expand this limit.
#️⃣ I linked my Instagram account with my Facebook Page, but it is still unavailable during integration. What can I do?
In some cases, Facebook needs you to confirm the link between your Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Please visit the "Edit profile" section visible in your Instagram profile. Once you are in, you will see the "Page" section with the name of the Facebook Page you linked your profile with. Click "Confirm" to approve the connection.
#️⃣ Can you provide a link to past changes in Facebook and Instagram API that influenced the data collection process?

Facebook treats privacy very seriously, so this is an ongoing process.
