What is the Mentions tab
The Mentions tab in Brand24 is where you see all the online mentions of your brand, product, or keywords you're tracking. It's a central spot to view what people are saying about you across the web.
How does it work
Brand24 scans the internet, including social media, blogs, news sites, and forums. It collects every mention of the keywords you're tracking and displays them in the Mentions tab. You can filter, sort, and respond to these mentions directly from this tab.
Why is it important
It helps you stay on top of your brand's online reputation (or the market and competitors, for that matter). You can quickly see what people are saying, address any issues, and engage with your audience. It's a powerful tool for managing and improving your brand image.

Search bar
You can use the search bar to dig deeper into your mentions by adding specific keywords that must be included. For more advanced filtering, take advantage of our Boolean search capabilities.
Charts
The Mentions & Reach chart shows the number of mentions and their reach over time. The blue line peaks indicate when your brand was mentioned the most. The green line shows how many people potentially saw these mentions.
The exclamation points on the chart represent AI Anomaly Detector, signaling unusual spikes that might need attention. This helps you quickly spot important trends or issues.
The Sentiment chart shows how people feel about your brand over time. It tracks both positive and negative mentions. This chart helps you understand the general mood or sentiment surrounding your brand, allowing you to spot any shifts in how people feel about you quickly.
Mentions
Each mention found by Brand24 contains:
Time and date it was published in the upper right corner.
The mention title, that will redirect you to the source of mention.
The number of social media author’s followers or the number of monthly visits (for websites).
The sentiment of mention that can be manually changed (positive, neutral, or negative).
Visit button that will take you straight to the source of the mention.
Tags button that will let you tag a mention with an existing or a new tag.
Delete button that will let you delete irrelevant mentions or block irrelevant social media authors’ mentions or mark them as SPAM.
Add to PDF Report button that will allow you to add up to 100 single mentions to your PDF report.
Tick box, which is used for bulk actions.
Every mention that you pressed on to visit its source will contain the eye sign in its upper left corner:
Sorting options
Brand24 lets you sort mentions in two ways:
Recent Mentions First: Ideal for regular users who want to see the latest mentions at the top and handle them one by one.
Popular Mentions First: Perfect for those who want to view a variety of sources but prioritize mentions with the most interactions or the highest influencer scores.
This view includes both social and non-social sources:
Social Media Mentions: Sorted by interactions, with influencer scores used when there are no interactions. The influencer score is based on the author's follower count.
Non-Social Mentions: Sorted by influencer score, calculated using the site's monthly visit numbers.
Filters
On the right side of the Mentions dashboard, you can see the filters that you can apply to your mentions so they meet your specific criteria. Explanations of each filter can be found in this article.
Bulk actions
When you tick a box next to a mention, a bulk actions bar appears. You can manually select specific mentions or choose all mentions on the page for group actions.
Here’s what you can do:
Change sentiment
Tag selected mentions
Delete them
Add them to a PDF report
Essentially, you can perform any action on multiple mentions at once, just like you would with a single mention.
